A Little About Me :)

My name is Kelley, Single Mamapreneur. I have two sons, Sean (19) and Jameson (7).  I am pretty much your typical Midwestern girl, raising two fearless and strong Midwestern boys!  We are also a furbaby {woof, woof} family. Lola is a year and a half, pure bred Golden Retriever that has been raised with the TGT Littles since 7 weeks of age. We are also the proud and loving foster family to an 8.5 weeks old, pure bred German Shepherd, Bear. Both pups love their little people and the little people love their furbabies. <3

My knowledge has been gathered both in independent study, formal study and experience.  Most recently, I  attended the Social Work proram at St. Kates, however have decided to take a break to focus on TGT and my other “side hustle” businesses. In the past, I have attended courses through Eager to Learn, Normandale and the University of Phoenix, majoring in Early Childhood Education and Human Services. I am Rule 3 (Child Care Center) Lead Teacher qualified, and have over twenty one years of experience working with children 6 weeks old- 5 years old.  I worked previously as a nanny, Toddler Teacher, and Child Care Department Head.  I was actively involved in my oldest sons school and extracurricular activities as a parent volunteer and PTO member, baseball coach for Bloomington Athletic Association 2003-2007 as well as Board Member and Team Manager for the Kennedy Mite Hockey Program 2006-2008.  Since moving to Waconia in 2009, I have become involved with our school district and community as a Chamber member and Heros Coalition representative. Jameson isn’t as sports crazy as his big brother, but when the opportunity presents itself I plan to be jut as involved in his extracurricular activities as well.

I have always dreamed of operating my own child care and enjoy the early childhood stages most, watching them come into their own through play, group and independent learning is so rewarding. My teaching is planned and purposeful and when making a lesson plan, I consider each child’s individual needs as well as the needs of the entire group. Thus assure a positive learning experience for everyone. With that said, I choose my staff and co-providers with similar backgrounds and beliefs as my own, however with unique personalities that compliment each other. This makes TGT an incredible, positive, and loving learning and care environment.  I hit the jackpot with my two partners in crime, Crystal & Sandy!! 😉

Finding a child care provider is no easy task, I appreciate your consideration. If you like what you’ve seen here and would like to schedule an interview at The Giving Tree, please give us a call!

I look forward to meeting you and building relationships in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Kelley
